I envisioned this bear as emerging from a river at the close of a successful day. Full and content, with one final prize carried to shore.

This palm-sized brown bear is carved from soapstone of predominately reddish hues, flecked with green highlights and darker markings throughout. His coat has been detailed with carved lines and dots about her neck and back. A green soapstone fish is balanced in his mouth without the use of adhesive.

He is polished with tung oil and locally pure beeswax to bring out the natural earthy colours of the stone.
