Skipper — Kinetic Soapstone Otter

My first kinetic sculpture — Skipper the Otter. This soapstone piece is carved from a speckled, grey-green stone, with a swath of dark blue along the otter's back. The bottom of the sculpture is a smooth curve, and the statue rocks easily when nudged. 

Between the paws rests a galaxy-coloured antique marble, chosen for how it shifts colours when the sculpture moves.

The otter is polished with beeswax to bring out the natural earthy colours of the stone.
